The mother art is architecture. Without an architecture of our own we have no soul of our own civilization.— Frank Lloyd Wright
His Legacy
Frank Lloyd Wright (1867–1959) designed more than 1,000 structures over a 70-year career, of which 532 were completed. His philosophy of organic architecture — that buildings should grow from their environment as naturally as any living thing — transformed the built world.
From the sweeping Prairie Style homes of the Midwest to the desert compounds of Arizona, Wright's work remains as vital and astonishing today as when it was first built.
